  
Since Ma Jaya began painting in 1982, she has returned again and again to paint the sacred River Ganga. The current series of original paintings consists of large canvasses that evoke the river in different lights. Although the river flows on, certain elements remain constant: the sun or moon, the Mother’s temple, the guru’s temple across the river, the ghats leading to the sacred waters, the deities who dance on the banks, and more. We also offer a poster version of a slightly different way of seeing the River, painted around 1990.
